Summit Construction's L01 in Harvest Park
It is always a pleasure to show off our latest homes. Here is one we completed this last month in Harvest Park. This particular home has a ton of character. The Craftsman style was implemented with minute detail in this newly built home.
Here, the home is shown with the beautiful geometric shapes, emphasizing horizontal lines even though it is a two story home. This home has a beautiful wrap around porch, which gives it a classy bungalow feeling. The exterior is a monochromatic blue color scheme, a refreshing change from the warm neutrals typical of Utah Valley.
As you approach the home, you may notice the geometric ornamentation is continued in the entry way in the windows and glass detail in the door window as well. The transom and clerestory windows above add lighting in the day and the light fixture creates a fantastic center piece to this large entry space.
The ceiling height reaches up to the second floor. Upon entering the home, there is a beautiful staircase that leads up to the second level of the home. To the left of the entry is a living room with a rich deep red hardwood floor that continues throughout the main walkways and up the stairs.
In the upper level the hall wraps around to the master bedroom. This room has some really interesting space. The dormer windows on the house cause varying ceiling levels which creates an intriguing atmosphere. The wall color is a cheery "Golden Ecru" by Pittsburgh that adds to the character of this particular room.
The master bathroom has a large amount of space with the master tub, shower, double sink area and water closet. For the cabinets, they chose another rich color that coordinates well with the tile, wall color and is cohesive to the rest of the interior selections. In the center, the cabinet reaches to the ceiling to define the space between the two sinks, and to add storage space. The closet in the master bedroom is large and full of functionality.
This area has a double sink and large mirrors, with extra cabinet and counter top space. The area is part of a bathroom space, but is about 10 x 6 feet just for this "getting ready" space. The shower and toilet are in a separate adjacent room. This has been a more functional use of space that we have created in our floor plans for an increasing amount of people.
Down the hall from the master suite is the laundry room. This room is designer quality. The track lighting gives an exciting feeling to the space. Cabinets have been installed all around the perimeter of this room, utilizing the space perfectly. The paint color for the laundry room is River Reed by Pittsburgh Paint.
From a design standpoint, the work space in this room is wonderful, the sink is on the left of the washer and dryer. Then, across from the washer and dryer is the large counter top space that can be used for folding clothes. It is a large enough space to allow for working, but it is small enough to do things comfortably.
Still on the upper level, there are two bedrooms. The walls are a cool gray with contrasting white trim. This paint color is called Flagstone by Pittsburgh Paints. Notice even the ceiling is the same color as the walls, this is seen in the rest of the home as well. Often, homeowners will choose to do the ceiling in a lighter color than the walls to open the space up. It is fun to see something a little different than usual, it gives the room a finished look, especially with the crown trim defining the space. Each of these bedrooms also have walk in closets, with one room showing floor to ceiling height built in cabinets.
This home has many beautiful details, as we move from the second level of the home back down to the main floor, we have discovered some details that make this home wonderful. On the main floor, we have the mudroom, the main living and dining space, and kitchen that we have yet to explore.
Pictured below is the mudroom and entry from the garage. This area is a great drop zone for shoes, coats, etc. when the family comes home from daily activities. The tile floor will help maintain longevity for the hardwood floors, since the garage entry will most likely be a high traffic area. There is also a bathroom conviniently located right off the garage entry as well.
A door separates the mudroom area from the rest of the main floor to keep a formal atmosphere. The living room is a spacious beautiful area with the fireplace centered in the room. This room is about twenty seven feet long including the great room, and dining. It is connected to the kitchen area which is another fifteen foot area. So, given those dimensions, it is a good large living space.
This fireplace mantle is stained the same as the cabinets to match the wood floor. It was crafted to be a simple shaker style with the minimalistic, but classic approach. The wood floor in this area really shows its character as it plays off of the above lighting and matching fireplace. The surround is a coordinating tile set around the firebox, it creates a finished touch.
Lighting above the fireplace sets the area up for a beautiful picture, should the homeowners chose to use it that way, or is wired for a television set to be useable in that space as well. Outlets are placed close to the fireplace to assist in any electrical needs, be it lamps, entertainment systems etc.
Here is a picture showing the large living space, with the great room, kitchen and dining room all together. The traffic flow of this space is well laid out. The high traffic areas have the hardwood floors, and the comfortable space is carpeted. This is a smart thing to take into consideration when building and helps you save money in the long run, you won't have to replace the areas as often. Carpet in a large space like this is also a good idea because it helps to dampen the sound. When you have large open areas, and all hard surfaces, the sound will echo more, carpeting helps offset that.
The kitchen has some incredible light fixtures that bring that industrial aspect into the home. It goes well with the dark floor, and black and white cabinets. For the counter tops, this granite is one with a lot of character. It has large crystals that alternate between an amber gold-brown and a creamy beige.
Continuing down to the lower level, there is a fun transition of color at the bottom of the stairs where the "Golden Ecru" and the "Flagstone" colors meet. The basement, although it may seem cooler, really brightens up during the daylight hours. Daylight basements are one of the features that we gladly implement in each of our Summit Construction homes.
This basement family room is about 30 x 15 and offers a fun kitchenette tucked away in the corner. The cabinets are the same rich stain that was used in the upper level bathrooms and laundry. This will enliven the space and be a fun addition for the family to use. The kitchenette has room for a mini fridge, and microwave and includes a sink as well. Perfect for entertaining. There is also another bedroom on this level, similar to the upper level rooms.
This wraps up the highlights of this home, it has been a beautiful experience working on this and we love to be able to showcase the wonderful collaborative ideas of our homeowners and building team on this blog. These last pictures show the beautiful exteriors of this lot, landscaping is always included in our building package. We love completing the finishing touches. Thanks for viewing and please feel free to comment. Make sure to stay tuned, we have lots more homes to come.
Thanks again from all of us,
